He is an enthusiastic photovoltaic engineer (electricity from light), advises customers on photovoltaic systems, has set up three community solar power plants in the district, represents the district of BGL in the Bavarian Solar Initiatives Working Group, is a member of the Aachen Solar Promotion Association (www.sfv.de) and the local chapter of the Bund Naturschutz. He also promotes the construction and financing of photovoltaic systems. Yes, photovoltaic roofs are worthwhile and continue to pay off, because the solar boom is not over yet.
1995 Foundation of the Berchtesgadener Land (BGL) solar initiative in south-eastern Bavaria, bordering Salzburg in Austria, and commitment to cost-covering remuneration for feeding solar power into the public grid.
2001 After the EEG (Renewable Energy Sources Act) came into force, the second citizen solar power plants were founded in Freilassing and Ainring and further citizen power plants were promoted in the region. Private individuals collect money and use it to build photovoltaic systems (PVS) on municipal roofs, also to show that PVS work and pay off.
2011 Foundation and construction of another community solar power plant in Freilassing, with a total of over 100 shareholders and members. The PV systems are installed on municipal roofs, run well and deliver the calculated yields, because we pay nothing for the operating resources, as the solar radiation is still free to harvest.
Page 2002 Delivery of solar handicraft courses for children and young people in schools, clubs and in the vacation program of many communities in Upper Bavaria in the districts of Berchtesgadener Land, Traunstein, Altötting and Mühldorf and in the Salzburger Land and Lower Bavaria. see www.solarbasteln.de The number of participants has increased year on year from an initial 30 to over 500 children and young people this year, who have been inspired to use solar energy. During the half-day courses, the children build a floating solar boat from a fish tin and cardboard with a solar cell and motor, which does its rounds in the fountain or paddling pool.
These solar courses in the summer vacation program for boys and girls, for Bavarian and Salzburg boys and girls, are particularly close to Hermann Schubotz's heart, as they allow him to inspire future electricity consumers and hopefully also electricity producers with the power of free solar energy. The children and young people have a lot of fun making the boats and take their finished solar boat home with them. Anyone who enjoys working with children and solar energy is cordially invited to help photovoltaic engineer Hermann Schubotz with the solar craft courses in Upper Bavaria and Salzburg. I know Roland Mösl from my own time in Salzburg, when we worked in the newly launched EDP. I regularly read his newsletter and PEGE.ORG With today's politics and economics, humanity as a whole is hurtling towards the abyss. To name just a few unresolved problem areas, climate catastrophe with global warming, melting of the polar ice caps and rising sea levels (Holland, Bangladesh and Vanatu are sinking in the floods), overpopulation, poverty and hunger, civil wars, the current wave of refugees, erosion, species extinction, deforestation of the rainforests, nuclear contamination, the end of the oil and coal age, the carbon dioxide (CO2) problem and many more. Today's political, economic, military, media and religious leaders in all countries are more or less standing idly by and watching the goings-on or holding ineffective annual climate conferences that produce little more than more hot air. The good concept of Agenda21 (Rio1992, harmony of ecology-environment, economy-economy and social concerns) has been talked to death and dried up and is little more than a paper concept from the last century. NOBODY is really taking responsibility for the survival of the planet. There is no comprehensive and coherent concept for limiting global warming to two degrees, for example. Who can stop the earth from warming and will it listen to the warnings and "stop" orders (2 degrees reached and stop)? With his PEGE.ORG and the books Aufstieg zum "Solarzeitalter" and "Calculation Error", Roland Mösl has presented a calculated concept with many examples and applications for saving and recovering the planet, and his ideas and concepts are ennobled by a quote from Albert Einstein: "If an idea does not first appear absurd, it is no good. But he has also had bitter experiences with these Albert Einstein quotes.
