| Diether Sieghart was born in 1934 in Mährisch-Ostrau (today's Czech Republic), studied mechanical engineering and lives in Moosburg an der Isar (Bavaria). He came to Bavaria as the eldest of five children with the wave of refugees from the "Sudetenland" that began after the Second World War. After dropping out of grammar school, he completed an apprenticeship as a machine fitter and at the same time prepared for the Bavarian Abitur as an "external student" (without attending school), which he passed with distinction. This enabled him to receive a scholarship from the Bavarian Ministry of Culture for particularly gifted students and to study mechanical engineering. Further scholarships enabled him to spend a semester as a guest student at the Technical University of Berlin as well as additional studies at the Technical University of Milan. After graduating and marrying his wife Barbara, he worked as a trainee and trained as a patent engineer at BOSCH in Stuttgart. After working as head of a design office and later as deputy managing director of a mold making company, he finally entered the world of management consulting. D.S. started out as an employee and built up a successful team. After self-financing additional consultancy training, these activities led to Diether Sieghart becoming a self-employed management consultant, his true professional passion. With a well-established network of partners, he successfully advised clients from a wide range of business sectors for over 30 years. Diether Sieghart has been involved in charitable projects for many years and has three children with his wife Barbara. |
