See Wikipedia article on Andreas Wabl. Excerpt from it: Wabl began his political career as a local councillor in Großklein (from 1985 to 1987). From 1985, he was also managing director of the Alternative List of Austria (ALÖ), one of the two predecessor parties of the later Greens. As a result of the 1986 National Council elections, Wabl was one of the first eight Green Party MPs to enter the Austrian National Council, where he served until 1999. From 1988 to 1990 he was also chairman of the Greens' parliamentary group and from 1996 to 1999 chairman of the parliamentary Audit Committee. In December 2007, he became the Federal Government's Climate Protection Commissioner. Wabl's task was to represent the Chancellor in the Climate and Energy Fund and to coordinate the climate protection summit, which was to be held annually in future. In this role, he was to be available to non-governmental organizations and interest groups, scientists and interested citizens as a point of contact.

Statement

I first met Roland Mösl at the UTEC Absorga in October 1993. I would have loved to do more for his project "GEMINI habitable solar power plant", but the possibilities of a member of the National Council from an opposition party were limited. Jänner 1997 versuchte ich zukunftsfähige Industrie für eine erfolgreiche Energiewende nach Österreich zu bringen. Roland Mösl vertrat damals als Leiter für Marketing und Anwendungstechnik das Startup „Ökoenergie Transkontakt" mit dem Projekt für eine 60 MW Jahresproduktion CIS Dünnschichttechnik Photovoltaikfabrik. Doch alle Bemühungen für eine Technologie, welche Jahre später die Grundlage für den Welterfolg von First Solar waren, scheiterten.
